A DIAMOND tiara is among the most interesting lots at O'Reilly's biggest sale of the year next Wednesday. The antique tiara, which converts to a necklace, comes from a private vendor in whose family it has been for many decades. Traditionally given as wedding presents to young brides, the tiara has made a comeback as a fashionable piece of jewellery. This one is expected to make up to £7,000.
The sale will also have good diamond rings, including a square cut solitaire diamond of over 4 carats that could make up to £9,000, a solitaire ring of just over 2 carats is estimated at £6,000-£7,000; and an antique three stone diamond ring, totalling 3.75 carats, also carries a top estimate of £7,000. A diamond and sapphire oval cluster ring is estimated at £4,000-£4,500.
Lower down the price scale there is a diamond eternity ring for £1,200-£1,400, a Victorian gold muff chain (£600 £790), a pair of diamond and emerald marquise earrings (£800-£900) and an Art Deco diamond brooch (£1,400-£1,600).
