In the editions of January 6th, 1997, the "Paper Round" column written by Kathryn Holmquist contained an error. The column suggested that the Drumcoura City Equestrian and Holiday Centre had been built without planning permission and now faced demolition.

The Irish Times accepts that the column was incorrect and arose from a misreading of an article in the Longford Leader. We have been advised by solicitors acting on behalf of Drumcoura City Equestrian and Holiday Centre and acknowledge that the centre is not threatened with any proceedings under the Planning and Development Acts and that the complex conforms with the said Acts.

The Irish Times regrets the error and has been asked to point out that there is no question whatsoever concerning the planning law status of the Drumcoura City complex and is happy to withdraw any suggestion that there is.
