THE monthly O'Reilly's fine art auction takes place in the company's Dublin premises next Wednesday and includes, as usual, a number of eye-catching pieces of jewellery. Not least among these is an Edwardian three-stone diamond ring of approximately 5.5 carats. This carries an estimate of £12,000-£14,000.
A solitaire diamond ring of just over three carats is expected to make £8,000-£10,000 and a Victorian diamond floral spray brooch - has an estimate of £2,500-£3,000. A solitaire diamond ring of 1.5 carats has, a price of £1,800-£2,200, a three-stone diamond and sapphire ring an estimate of £1,400-£1,600 and a Victorian five-stone diamond ring in a carved setting an estimate of £800-£1,200.
The silver section includes a George II - Irish soup ladle, made in Limerick by George Halloran around 1760, and estimated to make £1,500-£2,000, and a Victorian four-piece tea service (estimate £350-£400). There will also be a silver cup by Walker & Hall and dated 1892 (£300-£400), a French repeater carriage clock (£500-£700) and a gentleman's travelling tea-set (£150-£200).
