Snow Patrol tour: Snow Patrol will perform new versions of their songs at Dublin's Olympia on December 1st – as well as dates in Killarney, Castlebar and Belfast – as part of their 'Reworked' tour.
Smashing drummer:
Smashing Pumpkins have unveiled their new drummer. Mike Byrne (19) auditioned for the position in March and was chosen by Billy Corgan to replace Jimmy Chamberlin.
Shiny happy people:R.E.M. will release the recording of their "working rehearsal" from Dublin's Olympia in 2007 in October this year. The 39-song set will be spread over two discs, and a special edition will include DVD footage.
Fast move by Gibbard:Ben Gibbard of Death Cab for Cutie has collaborated with former Uncle Tupelo man Jay Farrar on the soundtrack for One Fast Move or I'm Gone: Kerouac's Big Sur, a documentary based on author Jack Kerouac's life.
