Nimble Jack:A new White Stripes album is due next year, according to frontman Jack White. White's new side project, The Dead Weather, featuring Alison Mosshart of The Kills on vocals, release their debut album ( Horehound) next month.

Gray signs up for Galway festival:David Gray is the second act to be announced for this year's Galway Arts Festival. He'll play the Festival Marquee on July 21st. Bon Iver was previously announced for the same venue on July 23rd.

George gets early release:Boy George was released from prison this week after serving four months of his 15-month sentence for falsely imprisoning a male escort.

Mew have stories to tell:Danish band Mew will release their fifth album, No More Stories, this August. It's their first album since 2005, and also their first as a three-piece. Bassist Johan Wohlert left the band in 2006.
