AS Christmas approaches, the number of antiques and collectables fairs being held throughout the Republic is rising, with at least six scheduled for tomorrow, two of them taking place in Dublin. From 10 a.m., there will be a fair at the Doyle Tara Towers Hotel on Merrion Road, featuring some 45 stands, with the usual wide range of items, including Victorian clocks, furniture, coins, pictures, china, brass and silver and porcelain.
A Georgian washstand, a pair of Georgian hall, chairs and several inlaid occasional tables will be among the furniture on sale at the antiques and collectables fair in the Davenport Hotel, Merrion Square, tomorrow, opening at 10.30 am.
There will also be a selection of photographic and scientific instruments and cinema memorabilia, as well as toys, old advertising items and clocks.
