Jim Magill of Belfast, who specialises in vintage film posters and memorabilia, will be among the exhibitors at the antiques and collectables fair in Dublin's Newman House tomorrow, starting at 11 a.m. Among the items he will have on sale is an original poster advertising the 1962 Tennessee Williams film Sweet Bird of Youth; seemingly, a similar example sold for £300 at a recent Christie's auction in London.
As usual, there will be a number of book dealers also present, offering children's books and annuals from the 1930s to 1950s, including works by Enid Blyton and Beano and Bunty annuals. Collectors of porcelain will be interested in such pieces as the mid 19th century Bee period Copeland, a Grainger's Worcester Queen's Ware cup and saucer from circa 1812 and a 1930s hand painted Aynsley coffee service, each piece individually signed.
