It’s all about China these days. It has emerged that Iron Man 3 will be co-produced by a Chinese company and that much of the film will be shot there.
DMG Entertainment, based in Beijing, is to invest at least $100 million in Robert Downey Jr’s latest adventure. It’s the first time that a major Hollywood franchise has sought significant funding from the People’s Republic.
Rob Steffens, general manager at Marvel, creators of Iron Man, made with the soft soap. He said: “Adding a local flavour, and working with our new local partner, will enhance the appeal and relevance of our characters in China’s fast- growing film marketplace.”
