JJ Abrams is at it again with the teasing, tantalising trailers. Some years back, the promo for Cloverfield, which Abrams produced, excited punters waiting for the beginning of the first Transformersmovie. JJ has now repeated the experiment with a teaser for something called Super 8.

Playing with Iron Man 2in US cinemas, the trailer begins with a legend explaining that "In 1979, the US Air Force closed a section of Area 51." We then experience a super-excellent train crash and watch as something – what, for Pete's sake? – tries to bust out of a crippled freight car.

The folk at Paramount deny the mystery film is a sequel to Cloverfield. Could it be a prequel though?
