Our own Saoirse Ronan, killing bad guys in this week's Hanna, has secured the lead in the upcoming film adaptation of Stephenie Meyer's novel The Host.

The writer is Andrew Niccol, the man behind The Truman Showand Gattaca, and the film concerns one of a dwindling band of humans fighting parasitic invading aliens. The Host, which follows close behind the conclusion of the film adaptations of Meyer's Twilightsaga, is almost certain to be a smash.
