This just in: Lars being outrageous

Ah, good old Lars Von Trier

Ah, good old Lars Von Trier. Just three months after that Hitlergate incident at Cannes, the old rogue is already stirring up controversy for his next film. The unambiguously titled Nymphomaniac, which deals with child sexuality, is to be released in both a "hardcore" and a "softcore" version. Peter Aalbæk Jensen, the Danish director's business partner, confirmed: "If Lars wants to make explicit sex scenes in the film, he also has to make a version that can be shown on TV in Europe. He has accepted that."

In more serious news, Von Trier has commented on the information that Anders Behring Breivik, the Norwegian mass murderer, listed the director's Dogvilleas one of his favourite films. "I feel terribly bad thinking that Dogville, which is in my eyes one of my most successful films, could have been a kind of script for him," he told the Politikennewspaper. "If it means that it had this effect, then I am sorry I have made it." Thank goodness Lars decided to mind his tongue on this occasion.
