Twenty years after their mega-selling Rumours album, Fleetwood Mac release a live album, a permanent record of just how safe and sanitised their music really was. There's no sleeve info on my review copy, so I don't know where or when this concert was recorded, but I suspect there's a certain American presidential fan in the audience. The album opens in a swirl of jingles and jangles, as The Chain stomps into its stride. Dreams and Rhiannon allows Stevie Nicks free rein on her nauseating mystic-princess act, while Everywhere gives Christine McVie the wheel, letting her drive straight down the middle of the road. Big Love and Go Your Own Way let loose Lynsey Buckingham's overactive nervous energy, and the hit parade includes Say You Love Me, You Make Loving Fun, and a brassy finale of Don't Stop. Bill, Hillary and Chelsea will treasure this collection.
