Tableware and jewellery at castle
The Old Coach House fair takes place tomorrow in Dublin Castle with a good mix of collectables and memorabilia on offer, including old movie posters, old advertising posters, jewellery, prints and tableware. The doors open at 10.30 a.m.
Books on 1798 on offer in Wexford
A number of limited edition books dealing with 1798 feature among the 15 or so stands at the Wexford Book Fair, which takes place tomorrow at the Talbot Hotel. The fair runs from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. with over a dozen book dealers participating. The hotel is also the venue for the Wexford Festival Antiques Fair, which starts next Thursday to coincide with the Opera Festival. Some fine Irish Georgian silver will be among the highlights. Dublin dealer Derek Walsh will have a superb 1829 three-piece tea set by the Dublin silversmith Le Bas, and a silver cake basket made in Dublin in 1782. Charlotte Freeman will show a selection of Victorian and Art Deco jewellery, while Donal O'Regan will have a large selection of Victorian furniture, including a highly decorated walnut credenza. Mairead Furlong of Drinagh Antiques of Wexford will show a varied selection of porcelain, silver, plate and jewellery.
The fair will run through the Bank Holiday weekend.
Furniture and art in the west
The twice-yearly Connaught Antiques Fair will take place tomorrow in the Corrib Great Southern, where there will be around 15 stands specialising in furniture, as well as the usual mix of paintings, prints, jewellery, porcelain old books and coins. The fair will be open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
