JAZZ
Louis Moholo-Moholo and Alexander Hawkins
Kevin Barry Room, NCH, 7.30pm, nch.ie
As an exile for many years in London, South African drummer Louis Moholo-Moholo became one of the key figures on the British free scene, collaborating with free jazz giants such as Evan Parker and Cecil Taylor. Tonight, he squares up to a rising star of the next generation in the shape of young English pianist Alexander Hawkins, a musician who slides between improvisation and composition. Open minds will feel nourished; closed minds will feel queasy. Cormac Larkin

If you don't have a costume, Grindhouse presents The Crow same place, same time. Tara Brady

Is it really 16 years since Andy Cato and Tom Findlay first hit the road? That was with the Northern Star album, and the duo's subsequent run of tracks like I See You Baby, Superstylin' and If Everybody Looked the Same took them into the big leagues and made them one of dance music's reliable festival draws. They hit Dublin to help Abstract mark three years in the club-running business. JC
