A collection of paintings by Gerard Dillon sold exceptionally well at a recent auction by Rosebery's in London, with most of the more expensive oils bought by a Mayfair gallery. His Two Pierrots sold for £7,400, more than twice its top estimate. A smaller oil, Pierrot and Crows, fetched £4,500 and A cottage with fishing boats and cactus made £5,600.
