A century after the founding of the Irish Literary Theatre, some of the most interesting critical and creative forces on the contemporary theatre scene are getting together this weekend to discuss Theatre in a Post-modern World. Patrick Mason will give the keynote address tomorrow night to a conference at the Royal Irish Academy, Dawson Street, Dublin. On Saturday, his lecture will be responded to by Anna McMullan of TCD Drama Studies Centre and playwrights Declan Hughes and Tom Kilroy. Later sessions on Saturday include discussions on Theatre as Event, and - inevitably - The Critics, with Frank McGuinness, Nicholas Grene, Lynda Henderson and Cathy Leeney among others, followed by an open forum chaired by Dennis Kennedy of TCD.
