Professor David B Skinner, President Emeritus, New York Presbyterian Hospital & New York Presbyterian Healthcare System, will be the honoured with the distinction of an Honorary Fellowship by the President of the RCSI, Professor George Parks, at the College's annual Charter Day celebrations this weekend.

Prof Skinner follows a long line of distinguished recipients who have made an outstanding contribution to humanity. Previous recipients have included Louis Pasteur (1886); William and Charles Mayo (1921); Mother Teresa of Calcutta (1993); Mary Robinson (1994); Nelson Mandela (1996); Seamus Heaney (1998) and Her Excellency Mary McAleese (1998).
