FISH GO DEEP WITH TRACEY K
Lil' Hand Ultrasound
***

Since the late 1980s, Greg Dowling and Shane Johnson have been wowing Cork with classy house music at nights like Sweat and, in more recent years, sending their own productions around the world under the Fish Go Deep moniker. Working with vocalist Tracey Kelliher (last heard trilling like a funk soul diva with Dextris), the pair's debut album Lil' Hand may have been a long time in the works, but it's a collection which rewards every repeat play. Sultry slow-motion house and naked soul for the wee small hours for the most part, there's a confidence and a spirit to Lil' Hand that sticks out like a sore thumb from most house albums of this ilk. One taste of the subtle grooves that push Cocoon and Change Your Mind on their way and you too will want to go fishing. www.fishgodeep.com
