What you've found . . .

A reader (and coffee-bar owner) has highlighted the prices at Murphy's ice-cream parlour in Dingle, Co Kerry, where the charge is €€4 for a large latte coffee and 5 for a large mocha coffee. He says he achieves a healthy profit charging €2.20 and €2.80 respectively for the same items. According to the manager in Murphy's the reason its prices are so high is because the coffee it uses is a lot more expensive (supplied by Mahers in Cork). He says the parlour's reputation is built on having the best coffee in the south of Ireland, and if people want to pay less they can go elsewhere. It's the quality of the coffee they are paying for, he maintains.
