Marsha Hunt is going to be miserable if there are no Irish entrants for the Saga Prize - the prize for unpublished black writers of fiction. Now living in Ireland Hunt, right, whose latest book is Remembering Ernestine, is convinced "there must be a Phil Lynott out there somewhere". The award is worth £3,000, with the more valuable prize of publication by Faber. The deadline for the receipt of full-length manuscripts is June 10th next year, so there's still time to get writing if you're any age, gifted and black. Application forms are available from The Saga Prize Administrator, Book Trust, Book House, 45 East Hill, London SW18 2QZ.
