By coincidence, two Irish films made against the clock are to receive international outings over the next week. Transparent, a short by Paul Donnellon, has been selected for the International Festival of Cinema and Technology, which begins in Los Angeles this weekend. Transparentwas filmed in just three hours and stars Laura Stevely, Sean Ash and (it says here) "Geoffrey Rush's spectacles from The Life and Death of Peter Sellers".

Meanwhile, the Berlin Film Festival, which began yesterday, plays host to James Fair’s debut feature.

Watching & Waiting

was shot over a busy 72 hours at last year’s Galway Film Fleadh and has already been seen widely in the UK.
