A host of Irish names are in the running at this year’s BAFTA television awards.
Stars of the small screen, Graham Norton, Brendan O’Carroll, Stephen Rea and James Nesbitt are each hoping to bag an award at the ceremony in London on May 10th.
Dublin comedian Brendan O'Carroll is up for Best Male Performance In A Comedy Programme for his role in Mrs Brown's Boys Christmas special and Cork native Graham Norton has been nominated for Entertainment Programme for The Graham Norton Show.
Roscommon actor Chris O'Dowd has been nominated for the Best Scripted Comedy award for Moone Boy and Belfast native Stephen Rae is up for Supporting Actor for his role in BBC political spy thriller series The Honourable Woman.
Antrim's James Nesbitt has been nominated in the Leading Actor category for his performance in the BBC series The Missing, but faces competition from Oscar nominated actor Benedict Cumberbatch.
One notable exception from the list is star of film Fifty Shades of Grey, Jamie Dornan, who starred in BBC's the Fall which was set and filmed in Belfast.
