The RCSI Microbiology Laboratory has recently relocated to the college's Education and Research Centre in Beaumont Hospital, Dublin. The new facility, which will be officially opened in March, is benefiting from funding from Pfizer.

According to Prof Hilary Humphreys: "Our new location greatly enhances our clinical research potential, especially research on basic microbiological processes and infection in its various clinical forms."
