TAKE THAT
Beautiful World Live Polydor ***

Here's proof that you can be a better commercial prospect following a long absence by virtue of a comeback that includes some smart pop songs and a stage show (filmed at London's O2) that presses all the right flash-bang- wallop buttons. (Boyzone are surely taking notes.) Take That bring their latest album on the road in a confident display of pop music dynamics. Blending their successful back catalogue (It Only Takes a Minute, Relight My Fire, Could It Be Magic, Back for Good) with the latest hits (Patience, Shine), the band fuse pop-panto showmanship with state-of-the- art production techniques. The result is a solid show from a bunch of middle-aged men who probably can't believe their luck. Extras include adocumentary and a self-deprecating band commentary. www.takethattv.com
