The summer festival machine is well and truly oiling its cogs, with further additions made to both the Electric Picnic and Oxegen line-ups this week. Foals, UNKLE, Cathy Davey, Beardyman, Archie Bronson Outfit, Phil Selway, James Vincent McMorrow, And So I Watch You From Afar, and The Mighty Stef join the Picnic crew, while Biffy Clyro, Plan B and Local Natives play Oxegen.

The independent festival scene also continues to flourish. Joining the likes of Mercury Rev and Fionn Regan on the Castlepalooza bill are First Aid Kit, Norman Jay, Le Galaxie and a host of other local acts.

The Knockanstockan programme has also been announced, with The Spook of the Thirteenth Lock, Hot Sprockets and Sounds of System Breakdown among the many acts heading for the Wicklow lakes on July 23rd, 24th and 25th.

Meanwhile, this year’s Belsonic festival will host Paul Weller, Biffy Clyro, 2 Many DJs and David Guetta in Belfast from August 26th to 29th. Derry’s Glasgowbury Festival includes The Lowly Knights, Panama Kings and A Plastic Rose, while The Futureheads, And So I Watch You From Afar and more will play the new Take It to the Bridge festival in Co Down on July 3rd.
