In a sign that the promoters of Dublin are sympathetic to the music fan’s penniless plight around this time of year, there are no less than three free gigs taking place over the coming week.

After recently celebrating its second year in business with a birthday gig, the Grand Social’s Saucy Sundays showcase is also two years old. To celebrate, a free gig will take place from 4-11pm this Sunday. The Strypes will headline, alongside Oliver Cole, Gavin Glass, Cat Dowling, Wyvern Lingo, Junah, Lisa McLaughlin, MC Sho Biz and more.

On Thursday, Anseo on Camden Street will host its own 10th birthday celebration . Hello Moon, Mumblin’ Deaf Ro, Biggles Flys Again and Drunken Boat will all perform from 8pm.

Also on Thursday, Entertainment.iewill host its second monthly E.Live gig in Dublin. Bantum, Twin Terrace, VerseChorusVerse and Empire Saints will play at The Mercantile on Dame Street, which will also be streamed live on AerTV.ie. Admission is also free, but tickets must be reserved via entertainment.ie/tickets.
