The Charlatans' Tim Burgess was rightly acclaimed for his 2012 memoir Telling Stories, and this month sees the publication of the follow-up (or "Tim Book Two", as Burgess puns).
This accompanying soundtrack album is an eclectic blast from start to finish, as it takes us on Burgess’s titular worldwide trek to track down vinyl albums that had been recommended to him by a range of people, including director David Lynch, musicians Johnny Marr, Edwyn Collins, Kim Gordon and Iggy Pop, performance artist Christine Newby (aka Cosey Fanni Tutti), and writer Sharon Horgan.
Acts range from Love, John Grant, Loudon Wainwright III and Joy Division to Isao Tomita, Allen Ginsberg , The Clash and Willie Nelson. Good trip!
