Andy Burrows's solo career has flourished since he quit drumming for Razorlight three years ago. His third album picks up where 2010's Sun Comes Up Again (released under the I Am Arrows banner) left off, nicely filling the patchy gaps that that otherwise likeable collection left in its wake. Here the Laurel Canyon sound is an obvious reference point on the satisfying folk- hued harmonies of Company and Because I Know That I Can. Elsewhere, Fleetwood Mac, Neil Young and even Badly Drawn Boy (on the Mark Ronson- produced Keep on Moving On) are touched upon, while the chic Parisian waltz of Maybe You charms with its sweet brass interlude. Burrows will occasionally bow to cliched string arrangements on songs such as Hometown, but generally this is fine company to keep. andywburrows.com
