Ellie Goulding

After topping the BBC's Sound of 2010 poll this time last year, the last 12 months were bound to be epic for Ellie Goulding. Signed to Lady Gaga's US label and with a number one album ( Lights) guaranteeing continued interest in the singer, a pre-Christmas re-release was inevitable. The seven additional tracks are largely an extension of the original. Harp-soaked Animalcould have been a single contender, and Humantypifies her vocal-and-acoustic guitar folk leanings. At 23, Goulding – who writes most of her own songs – is a precocious talent, and 2012 should bring more material that finds her new fans. A live favourite, Elton John's Your Song, is also given a sensitive reworking (produced by Ben Lovett of Mumford Sons). Watch out for her vocal contribution to Tinie Tempah's Wondermansingle in the New Year. See elliegoulding.co.uk
