Celebrity Come Down With MeRock Action **

Remix albums often tend to be the last refuge of the marketing scoundrel. Errors released their fine second album Come Down With Me earlier this year, and now, just a few months later, we have a version with a fresh lick of paint thanks to such “celebrity” remixers as Mogwai, Gold Panda, Dam Mantle, The Field and others. Given that most Errors fans would probably prefer new material, the remixes are really calling cards for the individual producers. Dam Mantle shows his growing flair with a head-spinning deconstruction of Sorry About the Mess, Gold Panda (an old hand at the indie remix gig) pitches a new riff into the midst of A Rumour In Africa’s thrilling squall, and The Field takes Bridge Or Cloud? for a freestyle trip down some mysterious autobahn.
