Those who found their way to Cork-born, Galway-based producer John Daly's debut album, Sea & Sky, will relish what he's produced this time around. That debut collated Daly's releases for François Kevorkian's Wave Music label and caught his skill at turning liquid rhythms and shimmering synths into something rather special. On Sunburst, Daly makes cosmic hay with various strains of house, disco, techno and dub. What turns his take on these ingredients into moody, intense firecrackers is the producer's attention to detail in stitching his tracks together and processing the sound. The title track, Moon Pool and Cruise Control are slow- burning gems, finely calibrated to define Daly's sonic reach.
