Serious About Men Lovely Men ****

Limerick duo Blindboy and Mr Chrome have gone from internet phenomenon to the college-and-TV appearance circuit, largely due to their un-ignorable single Horse Outsidea year ago. Describing them to someone outside of Ireland is tricky, but their po-mo comedy hip-hop (with added Limerick moxy) works. While you might not get the tongue-in-cheek sentiment of Bag of Glue, there's no arguing with the Prince-style guitars and the ear-worminess of the whole thing. At 26 tracks over two CDs, there's a mix of old and new, including audio skits (The Bank, involving AIB, an Aero bar and some ruined trousers, is hilarious). And who isn't slightly intrigued by such titles as Double Dropping Yokes With Eamon De Valera? There are nods to hip-hop, dance and dubstep, and a song about a physically-challenged hawk.
