Kitsune Maison Compilation 9Kitsune ****

This French label has a knack of spotting rising indie-electro talents before everyone else latches on: previous compilations have spotlighted Simian Mobile Disco, Hot Chip, Crystal Castles and others. While some more recent offerings have been hit and miss, the latest round-up is a far sturdier affair, headed by Two Door Cinema Club (their Tourist Historyalbum is one of the label's key releases this year), Holy Ghost! (the mirrorball shimmy of Say My Nameincreasing anticipation for more from them), Washed Out ( Belongpacks a surprising amount of emotion in its sepia waves) and Jamaica (further evidence that the Justice-aided band have considerable smarts). There's also much to like and admire in Crookers' full-throttle vamping, Penguin Prison's pop frolics and Monarchy's classy grooves. See kitsune.fr
