Angie Bowie to stay in Big Brother house despite ex-husband’s death

Couple, who had one son, split in 1980 after being married for 10 years

Angie Bowie has opted to remain in the Celebrity Big Brother house after being told of her ex-husband David Bowie's death.

She entered the house on Tuesday, January 5th and is not due to leave until she wins or is evicted in the coming weeks.

“Following the very sad news of David Bowie’s death, we can now confirm that Angie Bowie has been informed off camera by her representatives,” said a Channel 5 spokesman.

“She has taken the decision to continue in the programme. The decision to remain in the house is entirely her choice, and she has been given the option to leave at any time if she changes her mind. Appropriate support will be available to Angie at any time if needed.”

The couple split in 1980 after 10 years of marriage. They had one son, Duncan Zowie Haywood Jones, whi is now 44.

The 66-year-old former model has spoken about her ex-husband several times since entering the house, and accused him of turning their son against her.

“I don’t see him (Duncan) at all,” she said. “He doesn’t like me. But my daughter loves me, so it’s good.”

On the question of why her son chose not to see her, she said: “I guess David told him not to.”
