TRACK OF THE WEEK
Astrid S - Such a Boy
Any track that opens with the line "you say you need more space – what are you, an astronaut?" immediately has our attention. Norwegian popstar Astrid S shrugs off an indecisive paramour – telling him to make his bloody mind up already. There's also a lovely percussive backbeat of what sounds like a glockenspiel – the tinkling sweetness undercutting Astrid's ultimatum.
Hero of the week is Katy Perry, who opened up about her mental health to KIIS FM. "I've been going to therapy for about five years and I think it has really helped my mental health incredibly. And it's a really wonderful thing to be able to talk to someone who doesn't judge you, because I don't think a lot of people have that. I encourage it. People think it's weird or they think yoga is weird. No, there is nothing weird about taking care of your physical and mental health."
Meanwhile, Hayley Williams told the Fader that she almost quit Paramore. "I just was done. I thought, There's gotta be something else that I'm good at in my life. Maybe it's time for me to go find that," she said. Luckily, her bandmate Taylor York helped keep her spirits up. He explained: "We both had doubts, and we had unity in that. I told her she didn't have to do stuff. But I just kept writing, and then there was this time that she got it again."
Zero of the week is touring. Adele wrote on Instagram. "I'm a real homebody and I get so much joy in the small things. Plus, I'm dramatic and have a terrible history of touring. Until now that is... I only ever did this tour for you and to hopefully have an impact on you the way that some of my favourite artists have had on me live. And I wanted my final shows to be in London because I don't know if I'll ever tour again and so I want my last time to be at home."
