The Charlatans will headline this year’s Castlepalooza Festival, which takes place in the grounds of Tullamore’s Charleville Castle on August 3rd, 4th and 5th. The Madchester indie band will perform their 1997 album, Tellin’ Stories, in its entirety, as well as hits from their back catalogue.

Other bands in the line-up – this is the sixth year of the boutique music and arts event – include Mercury Prize-nominated singer Ghostpoet, new British "glam-folk" artist King Charles and UK beat producer Jon Phonics.

Donal Dineen's Parish, Little Green Cars and recent Choice Music Prize winner Jape are among the Irish acts on the bill as are Solar Bears, Mmoths, The Ambience Affair, Hush War Cry, Bouts, Le Galaxie, Katie Kim, Windings, and more.

"We booked The Charlatans because they're so iconic. Tellin' Stories was such a big album for people growing up and we know this special show will connect with our audience," Festival director Cillian Stewart told The Ticket. Three-day camping tickets are available at €50 for one week only from today. castlepalooza.com
