Up-and-coming Irish band Cloud Castle Lake are set to headline a special gig taking place at Dublin’s Crawdaddy next week.

It comes under the banner of the Heineken Music-sponsored Future Bright series, which is held on the final Thursday of each month and gives bands and artists the reins to curate their own evening of entertainment – either through their selection of support acts or by putting their own unique spin on what a gig should be.

To that end, Cloud Castle Lake – who supported critically acclaimed American artist Glasser at last month's gig – are planning a special visual art-themed gig when they play on March 31st. They have also engaged the services of several members of the Trinity Orchestra – with whom they previously collaborated on a Kanye West cover – to boost their own sound.

"We've always had plans to play with brass and strings live, ever since we figured it would work with our music – so I guess that's another reason why Future Bright appealed to us," said drummer James O'Donohue. "It's giving us space to pretty much do whatever we want, once we all have fun."

It'll also be Cloud Castle Lake's last headline gig before they begin the recording of their debut album this summer. Support comes from Katie Kim, and tickets are €5 on the door.
