As her debut album, Playin' Me, showed, Merrisa Campbell has a way with seductive spells and hanging apostrophes. Her follow-up is devilish and delightful, with sassy, lustful, intoxicating moods all over the shop. Her label's pitch for the album as "lo-fi bedroom music" makes sense, as well as proving that it's not just the usual cast of lovermen who can make such claims regarding their prowess in that department. Wait 'Til Night is full of candid, carnal yearning, with Campbell teasing, coaxing and occasionally fuming at lovers and would-be lovers.
