Artist: Dermot Lambert
Genre: Singer / Songwriter
Label: Self-released

Dermot Lambert's name will be familiar to fans of 1990s Irish indie rockers Blink, but it has taken until now for their frontman to release a solo album. Traces of the Dubliner's erstwhile band's sound are noticeable on Tiny, with songs such as (Fade) Into the Morning Sun sounding like an Oasis tune with the swagger toned down. In that respect, Lambert's failure to move with the times is his downfall. A good deal of Tiny sounds unsure of itself, Lambert's tentative quiver laid over a midtempo indie-rock soundtrack that simply fails to inspire. Disused Roads makes amends with a more hushed delivery that sounds vaguely Bob Dylanesque, but overall these songs feel unfinished and in need of an injection of confidence – or at least some clear direction. dermotlambert.com
