Eight great Longitude acts your friends probably won't know

Listen here: We've collected together 8 lesser know acts playing at Longitude this weekend that you shouldn't miss.

All roads lead to Rathfarnham this weekend, as Longitude takes over Marlay Park for its annual festival in the city’s southern suburbs. Here’s our selection of acts to see away from the big-gun headliners.

Benjamin Booker: The New Orleans man put in a stormer of a set at last year's Electric Picnic. He's got guitar playing chops and charm to beat the band, so expect a wild time.

Australian Josef Salvat does a cracking line in quality synth-driven tunes. We’ve fond memories of his set at Other Voices 2013,

Ibeyi: A French-Cuban musical duo, who sing in English and Yoruba, a language from Nigeria? Sign us up.

Daithí: He's got the fiddle and he's willing to use it; but he's also got enough electro nous to craft a pop cracker, and Daithi Ó Drónaí has yet to let us down in the live stakes. Expect a very Irish brand of rave.

All Tvvins: Most people will have caught an AT show at this stage, so we'll not bang on about it too much. Suffice to say that Lar Kayw and Conor Adams have carried the pedigree from their previous acts Adebisi Shank and The Cast of Cheers into something faster, harder and fresher.

Wife: James Kelly cut his teeth with Altar of Plagues, before shifting direction to more electro pop pastures. We caught his show as the sole Irish representative at the last edition of the Red Bull Music Academy, and it was a solid set in a tricky venue. His latest release is a very classy affair so we approach this one with great interest.

Tove Lo: We've been waiting ages for a Tove Lo concert, or did she sneak in when we weren't looking? Even if she shows up, plays Habits (Stay High) five times and walks off stage, we'd still leave happy.

Haelos: London trio Haelos are probably just a break-out tune away from greater things. Their sound is soaked in 1990s trip hop with a fine dose of dark drama. We're done here.

Josef Savat: Australian Josef Salvat does a cracking line in quality synth-driven tunes. We've fond memories of his set at Other Voices 2013, so we anticipate another stylish delivery.
