Vinyl for the Fire:Arcade Fire have announced that a new 12-inch vinyl single will be made available in the coming months. The Canadians will release their third album later this year.
Gigs for Galway:The first acts have been announced for the Galway Arts Festival. Josh Ritter, Cathy Davey and Damien Dempsey will play a triple-header on July 23rd, while The Human League play on July 24th.
Pony club's CD: Tired Pony, Gary Lightbody's new supergroup, will release their debut album ( The Places We Ran From) in July. Peter Buck, Tom Smith of Editors and Zooey Deschanel are among the contributors.
Blige for biopic:Mary J Blige has signed on to portray Nina Simone in a forthcoming biopic of the legendary singer's life. Nina is due to begin filming this autumn.
