Soak: the rise and rise of a force of nature

You can gauge the rise of Bridie Monds-Watson in Other Voices performances. From the cheeky teenager who popped up in Dingle in 2012 to Stradbally in 2014 (still a cheeky teen, mind), it’s obvious that her songcraft, stage presence and gumption have progressed greatly.

Explosions is a case in point, a song which sets a fantastic mood and sustains it for the duration. The crowd stay hushed too, charmed and caught in its web. Then she does it again, and again, and again.

No wonder the Rough Trade label have added her recently to their line-up. Expect to see this Derrywoman and her guitar on many big event occasions like this for years to come.
