One woman and her guitar, Aly Spaltro has a lot of space to fill in this tent at this time of the day.

You’d imagine her delicate, bruised songs would need a lot of heft and ornamentation to do so – but you’d be wrong. These are songs with the power and the weight to fill universes, especially when accompanied by Spaltro’s commanding air.

The songs she hums today are mostly from her “Ripely Pine” album and her confidence animates and powers them to the very back of the tent. Be it “Aubergine” or “Bird Balloons”, Spaltro sketches the width and depth of human emotions with huge elan. One to watch for the future.
