Belvedere House, Mullingar, Co Westmeath Fri-Sun Noon €130 (weekend) 0818-719300
While most of the fuss about summer festivals inevitably focuses on the big guns that take over Punchestown and Stradbally, lets have a round of applause for Life. This weekend’s three-day bash marks five years on the go, a considerable achievement. This time around the festival is in Belvedere House, a venue previously used for Hi-Fi and the Midlands Country Festival.
As always with Life, you get a fine spread of stars and styles with something for everyone in the audience. Headliners include Chilean techno don Ricardo Villalobos, German producer Chris Liebing, drum’n’bass veteran LTJ Bukem, Ben Sims and Surgeon’s Frequency7 project, and rising Irish electro bucks the Japanese Popstars.
Other acts worth checking out include the excellent Joker, dub pioneer Mad Professor, Astral Projection and Doc Scott.
As always, there is also a plethora of Irish DJs and acts in the mix. So choose Life.
