Artist: Mick Harvey
Genre: Alternative
Label: Mute

Australian musician, arranger and record producer Mick Harvey might be better known as an erstwhile long-term collaborator with Nick Cave (from Birthday Party in 1976 to his departure from the Bad Seeds in 2009) and sometime associate of PJ Harvey, but the lesser spotted fan will be aware of the man’s fascination with French songwriter and all-round enthusiast of la-la-louche, Serge Gainsbourg.

Delirium Tremens is Harvey's third album of translating Gainsbourg's songs into English (after 1995's Intoxicated Man and 1997's Pink Elephants), and as the alcohol, if not alcoholic, themed titles remain so do the textured arrangements – and if songs such as A Day Like Any Other, More and More, Less and Less and The Decadance unashamedly conjure up images of post-coital ciggies and cuddles, then, you know, c'est la vie, mon ami.
