Various venues
Is New Year’s Eve still the biggest night of the year? While it has lost its lustre in recent times, there’s a bucketload of events designed to have you on the dancefloor when the clock strikes 12.
As always, Shine pull out all the stops in Belfast with Alex Metric, the Japanese Popstars, Screendeath and many more rocking out. In Dublin, there’s a six-room Not Saying Boo and Eleven Eleven bash at the Twisted Pepper with tons of local worthies, while there’s also free indie and alternative hops at venues such as the Grand Social and Workman’s Club.
Elsewhere, Mr Whippy’s Soundsystem brings 2011 to a close in Westport, while the Lava Lounge has eclectic electro, indie and tech on the menu in Dundalk. Many may prefer to preserve their energy for January 1st for the all-dayer at the Twisted Pepper with Blawan, Mosca, SL2, Kormac, Billy Scurry and many more on the bill.
