Picnic hamper gets more goodies

New additions were made to the Electric Picnic line-up this week

New additions were made to the Electric Picnic line-up this week. Mark E Everett’s Eels will be joined by UK trio Friendly Fires, who plan to play new material from their forthcoming second album on the festival circuit this summer. Laurent Garnier will also keep dance and techno fans happy, while trip-hop enthusiasts already pleased by Massive Attack’s participation will be happy to hear that Bonobo (aka Simon Green) will play his first-ever live Irish show this year.

Hot tip Stornoway will also be in Stradbally, while the Irish contingent is boosted by the addition of Fight Like Apes (who release their second album the same weekend), and Channel One.

The latter have played Electric Picnic in the past, but not since the release of their debut album Sound to Light. "We try to make our bigger shows a bit more audiovisual and hypnotic, so for the Picnic we'll have things like extra live percussion and live visuals," said frontman Paul O'Reilly.
