WITH JUST two weeks left until the ninth Electric Picnic festival in Stradbally, the line-up for several of its “side-attraction” stages has been announced. The Body Soul area – which has proven so popular with revellers over the years that it has spawned its own festival – will see many of the main-arena acts play more intimate sets. Paul Buchanan of the Blue Nile, trad supergroup LAPD (aka Andy Irvine, Dónal Lunny, Liam O’Flynn and Paddy Glackin), London electro-rockers Breton and Minnesotan jazz-folkers Dark Dark Dark are some of the highlights.

They'll be joined by the Spook of the Thirteenth Lock, Mmoths, Laura Sheeran, TR-One, When Saints Go Machine, RocketNumberNine, SertOne, Young Wonder, New Jackson, Ham Sandwich and more.

The Salty Dog Shipwrecked Stage – aka the ship in the woods stage – will host the likes of Jerry Fish, Tieranniesaur, Ham Sandwich, the Louisiana Six, the Mighty Stef and more. The Trenchtown area will see sets by DJ Bibi Ewa, The Bionic Rats, DJ Will Softly, the Barley Mob and more, while the Comedy Tent will have its metaphorical ribs tickled by the likes of David O'Doherty, Patrick Kielty, The Nualas, David McSavage and more. electricpicnic.ie
