Detroit innovator Derrick May (pictured) was one of the first-generation of DJs and producers to put his stamp on techno's sound. It's been more than two decades since May's Strings of Lifeintroduced us to a brave new world of alien bleeps and beeps. Since then he has released a string of key productions (including It Is What It Is, Nude Photoand Icon, though there have been few releases of note since the early 1990s), overseen the Transmat label (home to hi-tek soul releases by Aril Brikha, Suburban Knight and Stephen Brown) and is still capable of ramming clubs to the rafters.

You can expect May’s four-hour to-do in the Pogo basement to be sweaty and euphoric. Support from Giles Armstrong while, elsewhere in the venue, Today FM’s Donal Dineen hosts The Stage. And there’s a Bodytonic buzz in the Mezz with Tayor, Eoin Cregan, Conor L, Dazboy and Joma.
