AILBHE MALONElooks forward to a new girl-power anthem
TRACK OF THE WEEK: Music to Make the Boys Cryby Diana Vickers. Diana's been up and down since she was dropped by RCA earlier this year. Luckily, though, she's back on track with new music. This is a collab with Simon Says of Donkeyboy (whither they now?) and is a Scandi electro-pop gem, with classic Vickers lyrics: "I've always liked my moments bittersweet."
Sarah Harding has revealed the moment she knew that she had to go into rehab. The decision came during a dinner date with her fellow Girls Aloud members. “I wasn’t in a good state at all. I was very hungover, but the first thing I wanted to do was open a bottle of wine,” she recalled. She reflected that “I’ve been told by those close to me that was when I hit my worst. I was crying hysterically. I felt ashamed, embarrassed, terrified – my emotions were all over the place.” Fingers crossed that it’s only up from here, Sarah.
We didn't think we could love Rochelle Saturdays any more, but she's since declared that if she has kids, she certainly won't be a showbiz mum. Speaking to the Daily Star, she promised that "I won't be pushing my children into ballet classes or anything like that. I'd like them to do something more intellectual than their mother – maybe like a doctor or a lawyer, something a bit more intelligent than prancing around." Rochelle has been on the stage since she was a teenager: along with Frankie Saturdays, she was a member of S Club 8 (an S Club 7 spin-off). We still maintain their debut single, One Step Closer, was a banger.
We’re not sure how well this will turn out, but Jessie J and Tulisa are down for a collaboration, says Jessie. “I’d love to do a track with Tulisa. We’ve talked about writing a song like Do It Like A Dude together. A big girl-power anthem because we are both feminists.” Can we suggest that the rest of the N-Dubz lot stay away from this one?
